"The Mask"

Spinning on my axis I peer
into a vacuum.
Release is hard to come by
when agendas are used as
foreplay, and lying fingers
pluck slaughtered truth.

Sucked into chasms of
platitudes that have no
meaning, I ponder the purpose
of life.
A voice that offers nothing
but a resting place for idle
words, chuckles in amazement
at some that have mastered the
art of "wishful thinking."

"No" is spoken in many
languages, I learned it young.
